Happy Snoot Pet Care serves dogs, cats, and small animals in and around CHarlottesville, Virginia. iT IS A ONE-WOMAN business, OWNED AND OPERATED BY eMILY SCHREFFLER. Emily has worked with animals for nearly a decade as a kennel technician, veterinary assistant, dog walker, and pet sitter.

Emily understands the strong bond people share with their pets. She also understands how difficult it can be for people to leave their pets under someone else’s care. Emily works closely with her clients to understand their pets’ unique needs and personalizes her services to meet those needs. She provides regular text, photo, and video updates to her clients so they can rest assured their pets are in good hands.

Happy Snoot Pet Care is a member of Pet Sitters Associates and carries liability insurance, home protection insurance, and emergency vet care coverage.

Meet Emily

While completing her degree in chemistry and dance at Middlebury College in Vermont, Emily began working with a local shelter. She quickly realized that she wanted to dedicate her life to animal care and has never looked back. As she and her husband slowly migrated to Virginia, Emily worked at shelters, traditional and mobile vet offices, and boarding kennels. She also provided dog walking and pet sitting services directly to clients on a part-time basis.

As Emily settled into a new home in Charlottesville, she developed the idea for Happy Snoot Pet Care. She wanted to create a business that would allow her to dedicate herself full-time to providing the level of care that every animal deserves. Having seen firsthand the stress animals can experience at kennels, Emily firmly believes that most animals are best provided for in their own homes. Whether making a quick drop-in visit or providing overnight pet sitting over the course of multiple weeks, Emily’s goal is the same: to provide clients with the sense of security she would want if her own dog and two cats were under another person’s care.
